Are you interested in training and simulators, as well as their development? Do you want to influence Sweden's defence capability? Air Defence and Air Surveillance School (StrilS)
StrilS is the Air Force's air defence and air surveillance school and is part of the Air Combat School (LSS). StrilS conducts basic officer education for both officers and specialist officers within air combat control, air surveillance, and AF communications service, as well as further competence development for the organisation's needs. The school also coordinates education in cyber and electronic warfare for the Air Force's needs.
Main Responsibilities
A large part of the work as a simulator soldier in communications at the System and Simulator Department (SYSIM) at StrilS involves managing and preparing simulators to facilitate training at StrilS. You will also create simulations and games in collaboration with other department members in various subsystems such as C2Strics or TP L16. These simulations are primarily used to train new operators, but also when the Stril Battalion and the AF prepare for larger exercises and develop their personnel and capabilities.
You will also be involved in the development of StrilS simulators, such as C2Strics, TP L16, and C2StriC, including participating in tests and meetings with the manufacturer on behalf of the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV).
In addition, you will support the planning and implementation of communications training for soldiers, officers, and civilians within the framework of program-bound education or vocational courses.
Qualifications:
- Completed and approved Swedish conscription with position training as a communications soldier or equivalent.
- Previous experience in communications service in the Air Force.
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.

Being meticulous, unpretentious, and a good team player ensures you have the right prerequisites to solve your tasks. You have the ability to express your opinions and are clear and communicative. You are flexible and can handle temporary peaks in workload without becoming stressed. You also have a high ability to cooperate with others and work in a team.
Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
Merits:
- Category B driver's license.

Other:
- Employment type: Military position. Fixed-term employment according to GSS/K agreement for a maximum of 8 years. The Swedish Armed Forces apply a 6-month probationary period for those not already employed by the agency.
- Employment level: Full-time.
- Work location: Uppsala.
- The position entails international service obligation, war-time placement, and participation in training and exercises in the war organization.
- Estimated start date/access: Earliest 2026-10-01 or as agreed.
